CEPA
SME Expo
|
In
just less than one month, on 1 January 2004, the mainland-Hong
Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) will come
into force.
Our
Chairman, Mr. K K Yeung, representing the Management Consultancies
Association of Hong Kong (MCAHK), was invited to be the speaker
of one of the CEPA SME Expo Seminars organized by the Hong
Kong Trade Development Council at Hong Kong Convention and
Exhibition Centre on 2nd December, 2003. The Expo was the
largest CEPA promotional event since the signing of the agreement
in June.
The
subject of the seminar conducted by Mr. K K Yeung addressed
on the new opportunities of consultancy industries emerging
under CEPA.
There
were attendees of about 160 people which was the full capacity
of the venue. Most of the attendees were consultancy service
providers and professionals. Most consultancy firms have shown
their interests in MCAHK and over 50 MCAHK membership application
forms have been sent as requested.
Government
and private organisations from Hong Kong are also strongly
represented at the Expo. Apart from the TDC, Trade and Industry
Department and other HKSAR Government departments, many organisations
are showcasing their services specially tailored to assist
Hong Kong companies capitalise on Cepa opportunities. These
include banks, accounting firms, law firms, as well as design,
marketing, IT and logistics companies.
